COMPANY PROFILE

BACKGROUND PROFOCUS Limited was registered with the registrar of companies in Kampala –Uganda as an indigenous private sector organization (PSO) in 2005 to provide various forms of consultancy services, which had hitherto been mainly provided by foreign consultancy firms. Find attached Annex A: Certificate of incorporation PROFOCUS Limited is made up of a core consultancy team comprising of specialized individuals with varied skills in development planning, project design and programming, project implementation, and operation, project monitoring and evaluation, and information and communication technologies, drafting laws and Policies.

At Profocus Limited Consultants, we aim to provide long-term innovations and re-engineered products through consultancy and research so as to provide clients with feasible solutions from the value-added deliverables.

Our projects usually undergo scrutiny of any government agency or development partner seeking transparency as a pre-requisite. We believe in the policy of public- private sector partnership in order to harness productive synergies. We therefore handle our clients in a professional manner so as maximize resource utilization and thereby boosting overall project value.





Prof. Emmanuel Kasimbazi is a Professor of Law, Senior Legal consultant and a Researcher. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Kwazulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa, a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Calgary Canada, a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Dar as salaam, Tanzania and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala and a qualified Advocate to practice law in Uganda. He has over 30 years of reviewing and drafting policies, laws, strategies, and plans. He has consulted for many international and national agencies such as Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), the World Bank, the African Development Bank, United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Nile Basin Initiative, European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Germany Technical Cooperation (GTZ), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). He has published over 50 monographs, book chapters, articles, working papers and reports.

ALEX NABWISO

Legal Consultant

Alex Nabwiso is Legal and Policy Consultant, and Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, and Lecturer at Cavendish University Uganda. He holds a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) from Makerere University Kampala, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre Kampala, a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax and Revenue Administration from the East African School of Taxation Kampala, a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the Islamic University In Uganda. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. He has expertise in International law, Environmental and Natural Resources law, and Corporate and Commercial law. He has played vital roles on several consultancy projects in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Somalia and Eswatini.

Dr Annet Kezaabu

Communications Expert Specialist.

She is a holder of a PhD in Media & Communication and a Master’s & Honour’s degree in Culture, Communications, and Media Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication from Makerere University. She has completed a Professional Certificate in Media and Digital Policy in South Africa from The Grail Centre in Cape Town. She has over 15 years in developing communication strategies and as a communication skills trainer.

Mubangizi Abby

Operations Manager

Mubangizi Abby holds an LLB (Hons) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, First Class. He currently serves as Operations Manager & Legal Research Assistant. He has previously worked with Centre for Participatory Research and Development (CEPARD) and the Uganda Civil Society Coalition Against Malaria (UCAAM). He is a member of Live a Dream and former President of Red Cross Western Uganda Schools Camp (2015/16). He also co- founded and moderated The Expedition Online Talk Show in 2020.

Nassar Opiyo

Legal Assistant

Nassar is a Legal Assistant with particular focus on Environmental Law. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Makerere University. He is an active participant in Moot Court competitions, which have sharpened his art of advocacy, legal writing, and analytical skills.
